Production Support
What is Production Support?
Production Support is often required to ensure the volume production of the finished product produces the highest yields at the lowest costs. Production Support tasks include sharing knowledge and history on the product development with the CM, reviewing potential component changes, and developing test methods and equipment that suit the production environment of the CM.
Arira’s role in Production Support
Depending on the needs and capabilities of the CM, Arira can participate in reviewing and recommending alternate component options, the definition and design of functional tests and related fixtures, and troubleshooting of any failed units.
Production Test Plan
The Production Test Plan is similar to the Bring-up Test Plan in that it lists a set of tests that are run to validate functionality of the product. However, most Production Test Plans are authored in a manner that allows for automating the tests. Eliminating the human interaction expedites the test process and minimizes the cost of test.
Production Test Code
The Production Test Code is the application code used to automate the testing provided in the Production Test Plan. Sometimes this code runs on the product itself, while others it is run on an external host.
Production Test Fixtures
Frequently, a custom test fixture is required to help with the Production Testing process. The fixture may be a mechanical fixture used for securing the product, it may have access points for testing signals on the PCBA, and it may have custom electronics for interfacing the product with other test equipment.
